Washington, D.C.– January 5, 2023 – Diana Shaw, Deputy Inspector General (IG), U.S. Department of State, Performing the Duties of Inspector General, will be the featured guest on the January 9 broadcast of “The Search for Accountability,” airing at 2:00 p.m. ET on Federal News Network 1500 AM, hosted by Michael Binder, Director of Graduate School USA’s Government Audit Training Institute.

“U.S. Department of State plays an enormous global role promoting domestic strength through international operations, diplomacy and coordination for safety, economic viability, and geo-political stability through commerce, humanitarian assistance, education, information, culture, and health,” said Binder. “We expect a lively discussion with Ms. Shaw about the accountability and monitoring challenges associated with rapidly changing world events, such as in Ukraine and Afghanistan. We will also discuss the great work that federal inspectors general do in pursuing integrity and public trust in government operations.”
Ms. Shaw provides leadership in oversight of the vast portfolio of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Agency for Global Media services and programs. She leads the Office of Inspector General’s independent and objective audits, inspections and investigations of efficiency and effectiveness, plus efforts to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse.
Prior to her role at the Department of State, Ms. Shaw was Assistant Inspector General and Acting Council to the IG with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Prior to government service, she practiced law for nearly a decade in a LLP, White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations group.
Ms. Shaw has a bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University, a Juris Doctorate from University of Southern California and attended Oxford University. Sheis licensed to practice law in California and the District of Columbia.
